It is not unusual for my wife and I to get "stuck" at home for up to a day because of downed trees and downed power lines and, occasionally, mud slides closing the road due to winter storms. It is such a hassle for a teacher to be 'out', though, that I usually end up hiking out on trails to get to school.

Hi Bradders,
saw that shot on the news this morning and thought it looked pretty fine, so I"m glad you've posted it.

..I reckon we should have a Brit to US dictionary/phrase book but I must admit to really enjoying the differences (even though my Apple spell checker defaults to US spellings). That makes us even Reggie! My Firefox spellchecker in Linux Mint defaults to UK spellings, and I have to keep 'correcting' it!!

We could do with a bit of the UK weather now Reggie, its bushfire season now, theres a complete fire ban in Perth now, part of a small town called Toodyay has been destroyed, thats 80km north east of perth and there is a couple of fires are just encroaching on the NE tip of suburbia. The firefighters are out battling them with helecopters and the like. Thankfully no one has been killed. But over in the east (New south Wales) theres floods, wierd.

Hi Stevey,
let's hope that the property damages are at a minimum and that the injuries or worse are nil!
We'd be most happy to send the weather to you.

I'm not as dumb as I thought.

Hey Barnone, are you running a Linux OS on your ASUS PC, and is your dictionary in the Firefox web browser? I ask because the dictionary in my wife's Windows version of Firefox defaults to US spellings, while the one that comes in Linux Mint, originating from Ireland, defaults to UK spellings. I'm sure I could find a way to change it, but just haven't slowed down long enough to spend any time digging into it!
