'92 XT225 for parts or rebuild - CO
Mountain_Sundae

I have a 1992 XT225.
A few years back, we threw it in the back of the truck for a trip to moab and some camping gear pinched the wiring harness. Melted the main harness through so I spent some time with it just to get her up and running, removing the headlight, excess wires for blinkers and brake lights etc.. the seat foam fell has deteriorated also.
The bike works but there is a draw on the electronics somewhere (causing the battery to drain if the engine/stator isn't feeding power back) so I have an isolator in-line just after the battery.
Mechanically, the bike is in good shape. Just hoping to find a passionate individual here to offload this good stuff to, ideal for parts or a rebuild. If I can't sell it whole to someone here I will likely end up parting it out and hoping to sell on ebay.
Bike is in central Colorado, please let me know if you have any interest. I can also be reached at moruska3@gmail.com
Thank you for reading,
Mike

SOLD! Posted on Craigslist and Market Place - at least ten calls in 2-hours. First person to show up did a quick test ride and paid full price.
2007 Yamaha XT225 Great Shape $2,650
This is the last year Yamaha made the venerable XT225 a well-known and loved bike with a tremendous on-line community behind it. Check out the various XT225 forums www.xt225.com and https://advrider.com/f/threads/the-official-xt225-thread.178968/
My mechanic and I have done some serious maintenance and upgrades on this bike since I bought it with 6,700 miles on it. Yes, I do ride the bike! As a dual-sport it sees a lot of trail action where the bike can handle its own with newer, larger displacement bikes. But none have the low seat-height of the Yamaha XT225. This is a fantastic bike for shorter riders, new riders, older riders (like me) who don’t want to feel like they are sitting on a pogo stick.
About the bike:
8,330 miles Valve adjust and complete factory scheduled tune-up at 7,000 miles Rebuilt carb New intake manifold New chain, front and rear sprockets (stock 15:45 gearing) PM Rack (Rotax compatible) https://www.pmracks.com Flush rear taillights (don’t hit with your legs getting on/off) Shorty front turn signals Bar-end protectors Aluminum skid plate Brush guards Upgraded break-away brake levers New high-intensity headlight New mirrors DMO Specialties large foot pegs http://dmospecialties.com Kenda K270 front tire, like new after 1,500 miles Continental TKC 80 rear tire, like new after 500 miles Trued and balanced rear wheel Comes with a Haynes owner’s manual and a bike cover 60 to 75MPG depending upon riding conditions, style, terrain
Runs Great! Very clean example of a 2007 dual-sport bike.
