Yeah my clutch side cover kept moving around/coming off so I zip tied it.

The race was definitely underway. I had witnessed the start, I was sure of that much. But what now? What comes next?

Mine just sit there. A zip tie couldn't hurt.

You stretch the accordian style cable boot over the lip of the lever boot, that's what the lip is for....that locks both parts together. They're made so you can open them easily to adjust the lever but the cable cover doesn't just sit there.

BigSmoke's picture has the cable boot backwards. (edit...I had another look and it is in the right direction but needs to be pulled over the cover lip). Garywi's is the right way but the boot should be pulled over the lip of the lever cover. That's how standard XT500 covers work anyway. Maybe aftermarket covers might need some trimming to fit.

Thanks for pointing that out. I'll fix that soon.
