I replaced the journal type cam bearing on two XT225s with a ball type bearing after one of mine seized due to wrong oil filter. Heard about this mod here on the forum. Made a video describing how to do it if anyone else is interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYx5SRnl9g0

Very nice; great job keeping your hands clear so we could actually see what is being done! Hopefully I never need to do that mod..

Excellent video!! Thanks for taking the time to do an instructional video and posting it here. Many will benefit from your upgrade project. Many of us are interested in making the XT a better bike.
What camera and video editing software did you use? Just curious. Some years back I used Sony Vegas Pro which is complicated. The oil change video was done with that program.
Thanks again.

Great video! Was the part number of the bearing you used in there somewhere and I just missed it?
This shall pass, be still and know. 2006 XT225, UNI filter, ProTaper bars, MSR handguards, SS front brake line, Shinko 241's.

Hey thanks guys. I have learned so much from YouTube I like to give back when I can. The bearing part number is 6005. That describes the size. I don't think the other details matter much. The bearing is rated for 2000 lbs and 4500 RPM so I think this application is easy on it. I love my XT and want it to last a long time. Hopefully this will help with that. I'm using a Sony AX53 camera and Adobe Premiere Elements 15 to make the video. I'm not a skilled videographer yet but working on it. You can see I experimented with different lighting in this video. I made another XT related video which compares it to a DR200: https://youtu.be/J1dBKhpbiW8
