I just wanted to mention a great trail here in the upper midwest. There are GPX files for riding the T.M.A.T.. There is a website for it too. There are two routes, the Eastern and the Central. There are also offshoots from the main trail.

The route follows a bunch of dirt and gravel roads and takes off road trails whenever it can. While there are some tricky spots, overall it isn't to hard to ride. I did it and I'm still a beginner. The Central route goes right by where I live. The routes cover Minnesota from one end to the other. Some beautiful northern scenery.

I rode both routes together a few years ago on an old XT550. 1400 miles over 7 days, camping the whole way. It was a lot of fun.
