I'm brand new to my 2005 XT225, and I'm having difficulty finding aftermarket exhaust options. Seems they are all sold out or discontinued from my searches on the internet (short of pro cycle wanting a ton of money for their options). Am I missing something or is the bike just becoming too old?

Given that the newest 225 is now approaching 16 years old, low volume aftermarket parts are likely to be getting scarce. You might be able to find a "universal" slip-on that will fit. The Z1 mod to the stock exhaust accomplishes similar effect.

This shall pass, be still and know.

We got TTR-225 exhaust systems (FMF & Pro Circuit). They fit the XT225 with no mods. Something like THIS. None of these parts are cheap now. I can't remember what we paid for the exhaust systems as it was many years ago. Make sure you have a spark arrester screen in whatever exhaust system you install. As I recall, years ago these were optional. Good luck.

Enjoy your (new) XT225. They are = A Blast.

Maybe, because of the nature of the 225 engine
output, aftermarket exhausts never sold well.

What condition is the original Exhaust, now?

What are you trying to accomplish by changing out
the OEM exhaust?

Search the site and also Google utube and read about the Z1 Mod.
You'll like the sound, if that was what you were after.

I was told the bike came with the Z1 mod done to it. I was having poor idle issues and found the snorkel was deleted and carb had already had the air-fuel mixture screw exposed for adjustment. It's sitting at 2.5 turns and is much happier than it was but was considering an aftermarket exhaust more for aesthetics than anything. I'm assuming the original owner had spent some time on this forum given the mods. Only 800ish miles on the bike!

Muniac,
Thanks for mentioning that the TTR225 exhaust fits, I've been able to find plenty of options searching the TTR!
