Great ride video! Those two young guys experienced a lot of pretty country up close and personal on their XT225s. Amazing trip!..

Great video, makes me nostalgic when I was young and crazy like that. Except for the seat (which probably wouldn't have bothered me in my 20's), an XT225 is plenty enough bike for a trip like that.

Don't fix it if it ain't broke, don't break it if you can't fix it.

I don't think I would have expressed it like they did (whoops n' treehugging/etc)... but I certainly know what they were feeling. Those types of experiences are the ones I like best about dual sport motorcycling.

Been doing this for 50 years this year, and love it now as much, or more, as I ever have.

An "Oh Sh!t.." moment for sure. At least he ended up in the water instead of on rocks. Not enough momentum to get past that rough patch and off he went..

Glad the guy's accident wasn't more serious. I see a lot of these bikes on the trails around here. 1/4 turn throttles and a racing setup doesn't make them ideal for "crawling" technical terrain. For which we have a lot of. Also constant slow riding causes them to overheat given not enough airflow over the radiator. This may cause some riders to go too fast. Fan kits are available but not all riders equip their bikes that way. As for me, the ideal dirt bike is the Honda XR400. Old school 4-stroke, great power and air cooled. Like the XT225, that bike isn't made anymore.

Please ride safely out there on whatever your favorite bike is.

We support Colorado's search and rescue team. By purchasing their ID cards. So far, haven't needed their services. We also have a satellite phone which we bring with us everywhere up in the mountains.
