Another possibility that I checked was if the pads were dragging on the rotor Maybe just your chice of words here, but just a comment for those who maybe new to this aspect of their bikes (or car). It's the nature of disk brakes for pads to lightly drag the rotor. With drum brakes there should be freeplay as there are return springs to pull the shoe free, but disc brakes have no such mechanism. So they remain lightly touching the disc when released (assuming no disc runout). So if you do spin the wheel and can feel or hear them lightly touching and adding so very small resistance this is perfectly ok. Obviously binding is a diffent matter.

Yep,there will always be at least a light drag on disc brakes. I satisfied myself that there wasn't a heavy drag by observing that the rotor wasn't at all hot to the touch.
I haven't measured with any great precision, but if I would, I think I would be closer to 5mm free play then the lower limit of 2mm.

Tighten it up a bit and see if that improves over the next couple of days.

Does anyone know if the xt225 and tw200 share the same front disc and caliper setup? If so... their is a supermoto style 320mm disc available for the tw200 from twparts. The kit also comes with a caliper relocation bracket.
