Has anyone installed the Pathfinder/Tailblazer from Kisan, and if so can You tell me how You like the product(s), and additionally; where You installed the light sensor (on your XT225) for the Pathfinder? Appreciate the help.

I have them on my Vulcan 750, and HIGHLY recommend them, IF you ride much in traffic. They are worthless off road. I am a big believer in visibility, (other than the stock reflectors on a bike) I wear highly visible clothes, (reflectors on clothes are fine with me, it's just those dorky stock reflectors on bikes I don't like). I also plan on installing these on my Ninja 500 in the near future. I probably will not put them on my XT, because I only ride it on the road far enough to get out of town, where I can ride off road or dirt roads. I just have the sensor zip tied to one of my windshield mounting brackets. Seems to work fine. I'm sure you can probably just zip tie it to the bars. Jerry.
The above is my opinion. Your mileage may vary. 1994/2001 custom built XT225 with a ton of aftermarket parts.

I ready about these Kisan bulbs for the brake light. In the fine print they say the bulb is halogen and generates a lot of heat. I thought the pulsing one would be good, but in a tiny rear lens would seem like it would melt something...
No XTs at the moment..

The brake light modulator I have uses the stock bulb, and has a controller placed in the wiring on the outside of the brake light/tail light housing. Voltage sent to the brake light triggers it. I don't see how they could use a halogen bulb, since the same bulb serves as both the brake light and the tail light. The brake light is only on for very short periods of time, but the tail light is always on. Also, if it is a halogen bulb, it would be a very low wattage bulb compared to a halogen headlight. Anyway, I'm sure they have tested it. Jerry.

The Wattage is what's important. The SURFACE of the quartz envelope on Halogen lamps gets very hot, but for similar Wattages compared to a standard incandescent bulb, within a container, the accumulated heat isn't going to be that much different. The Halogen's advantages include being slightly more efficient (Lumens/Watt) and longer life.
Halogen incandescent lamps shouldn't be confused with H.I.D. lamps, which run on an entirely different principle.

I got an email back on the 1157 pulsing halogen bulb. He says no hotter than a 1157 but way brighter because of the way G4 bulb elements are made. Ok, who will be the first to try one for $70?? :-) You get a replacment bulb for the base. Looks cool if it worked and was durable.

Not me. I'll just continue spending $20 for a brighter, more durable, longer life LED #1157 replacement bulb...and save 3/4 Amp along the way.

I don't know how well the brake light modulators work, but the headlight modulators definitely work. I notice cagers staring at mine. They are most effective at preventing the most common type of car/motorcycle accident, where a car herder turns left in front of an oncoming motorcyclist.
If you have turn signals, and it is legal in your state, I also recommend doing my turn signal mod, which converts the turn signals into 4 way flashers. Use them anytime you are sitting at a red light, unless you are going to turn, at least until a car has come up behind you and stopped. Jerry.

Hi Jerry,
I would think the same thing about the headlight modulators, but I read on another forum about one or more crashes that were attributable to the headlight modulator on a motorcycle.
A motorist reportedly mistook the modulated head light on a motorcyle for the motorcyclist signaling him by flashing his headlight to turn in left in front of him, resulting in a crash.
Headlight flashing in my area is considered a universal signal for yielding the right of way and allowing turning traffic in front of you. I can see how the miscommunication occurred, as modulated headlights are not very common in my area.
This situation is probably a good argument for standardized lighting on vehicles to avoid confusion.
As I mentioned previously in another post, flashing lights (or arguably modulated headlights)could have the opposite effect on impaired drivers, drawing them toward the light light source like moths toward light.
Here is the URL to a lengthy thread on headlight modulators on another board:

Headlight modulators do not actually flash the lights on and off, they go from dim to bight and back to dim, VERY rapidly. I don't see how anyone could mistake this for a rider flashing their lights manually, but I suppose it is possible. Jerry.
