Has anyone replaced the the camshaft collar (#7 on page A10 of the 225 parts list) with a ball bearing?
The dimensions (25mm id 47mm od and 12mm th) match with a 6005 bearing.
The only modification needed is to bent the tab (that prevents the rotation of the collar) on the retaining plate.
This would also close one camshaft oil hole, increasing (a little bit) the oil pressure, not so bad if you have a "tired" oil pump..
Apparently, the ball bearing has to be shielded on one side (Z type) so the oil goes the normal way in the lobe/rocker area, instead of going out right away through the bearing balls.

I guess no one has done it (too bad, I thought it is an easy fix...)
I think I will do it and see what happens..
The only thing that worries me a little is that the collar is slightly bigger (47.01mm) and is a press fit, but the bearing is 47.00mm and it goes in like this.
I dont think that this is really a problem, maybe I will use loctite bearing retainer (even though I dont know how it will work in the heat).
I will also try to post some pics...

Thanks Reggie!
It is in already. Unfortunately, I was not able to take any pictures because my stupid camera didn't work...
The bike started (I replaced piston, rings, pin and a gearbox bearing) and works good.
In some time (after 400-500 km) I will take the camshaft out to see how it is going. I promise I will take pictures then...

After two years,I finally made it to take the head apart and take those pictures:

After 14000km it still looks good. (The bad thing is that the valve stems and adjusters are worn, but that's another story..)

If you look closer at the bearing inner race, you will see that the camshaft is close to wearing through it, the inner race has not been turning with the camshaft. Unless what I'm seeing is due to the angle of the picture. Regards, Tom

Wondered about that when I first saw the photo Tom. Sure looks to be what's going on..

Exactly. I don't have a better picture, but it is not worn.
