Hi Guys n Gals,

does anyone know if Cigar Mikes centre stands will fit the Brazilian built XT225's?

Here's a few shots of Team Ukulele (an early disc brake, Japan bike)

And Team Cabra (2003 build, Brazilian).

I don't want to get one shipped over from the US if it doesn't fit.

Reg,
Looks like the engines on those bikes have excellent skid protection. I've never seen a tubular steel one before.
I like it!

Whether they would interfere with the installation, I don't know.
But if I planned to install a center stand, I'd first want to verify there's room for both the stand, and the skid protection.

sear,
I have CM's center stand on my 2005 XT225 and the stock skid plate is in it's original position.

Reggie,
I'll take some similar photos of my XT225 with the CM center stand that might help but a better bet might be going to the man at
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=537336&highlight=center+stand
or
http://www.cigarmikes.com/

I still think it's the best XT225 mod available. I was thanking CM yesterday as I cleaned and oiled my chain.

Hi Sear,

the tubular protection fits using the exact same mounts as per the usual plate but allows more cooling air to circulate around the engine lowers. I don't know if it makes any difference but I like the looks!

Hi Vince,

cheers Matey.

I look forward to seeing your images and I'd appreciate it if you could shot with both the stand retracted and deployed.

I was in contact with CM a few weeks ago and he was optimistic that they would fit but as he hadn't seen a Brazilian model then he couldn't commit (and rightly so).

As for your comments about it being the best mod, well I reckon you're not far wrong!

Note:Blue zip tie holds the rubber mat in place when installing the skid plate. Not really needed.

Reggie,

Excuse the dirt, just got back from a 60 mile dirt road ride over the mountain yesterday. Actually no sense in keeping it clean here in WNC.

The frame looks the same from this side of the pond but the proof is in the pudding which means that you will have to be a guinea pig? Anybody got a US spec XT225 over there?

Reggie..

The mounting locations look to be about the same. The only problem maybe your skidplate. The skids on ours are made of thin aluminum, and that is round tubing. I would measure the distance the tubing skid and aluminum skid hang down, say from the frame to the lowest point of the skid....cool

Hello Moto,

good thinking dude!

I've had an email from CM and he reckons it'll fit.
