Powroll is going to start making a big bore high compression kit.
http://www.powroll.com/P_YAMAHA_TTR230.htm

Slight over bore, increase in compression and a cam.

Tracy did they hire you on for R&D? It sounds like the mods you have made.

Seems like alot of money for five cc's its great a company is thinking of our bikes but it would be great if it was 250cc and not 230. Let us know how it works if you guys get the kits.

I think that most of their other kits include a large bore cylinder to completely replace the stock cylinder. This kit may be cheaper than their other kits. For my bike, the Wiseco piston and the Megacycle cam was about $250. The Wiseco piston kit alone is $100 - $120. Gaskets add another $30 - $40.

On the Poweroll kit, the cam is a separate purchase either through them or not. Keep in mind that, unless your bike is almost new, you may have to replace other head parts. I would not do the cam without new springs and having the valves replaced or ground and lapped (unless the bike is nearly new). I ended up completely rebuilding the head on my 94.

Update from the Powroll Tech Fourm

Posted: Tue Jul 11, 2006 11:47 pm Post subject: New kit for the XT TT TTR Serow 225 & TTR230 - You've as

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We're very close to releasing a new kit for the Yamaha 225-230. It's in the test bike right now, and should be on the dyno in a week or so.

We usually like to get at least 2 weeks of riding/testing on an engine, then tear down and check everything. After that, if it's all good, we'll offer the kit for sale.

You can keep an eye on our web page here: http://www.powroll.com/P_YAMAHA_TTR230.htm If you'd like an automatic reminder when the kit comes available, join the email list there and you'll be the first to know!

i have been in contact with pam at powroll for the last month or so. in fact i just got an email saying that all testing is complete and the pistons are in the manufacturing process now. she then told me that the kits should be ready to ship out in about 2 weeks. however, im still waiting on word about the expected power increase.
