now,, the next step is where a very important tool comes into use. It is most important that you adjust the tool to just hold the clutch basket, NOT compress it. I put the tool over the strongest part of the basket, notice the cast webs, or filets if you will.

The last posted pic is out of sequence. I need to take a potty break be back for more latter, wow 50 pounds lighter. Ok now we are almost at the top of the hill. just a little bit more to take off, then it will be down hill all the way. If you need to take a break, go ahead, if you got this far you deserve one. If you notice the hole for where the kicker shaft goes, the one on the left? just for grins, test fit your kicker sub assembly, then remover it for latter,

Just above the hole for the kicker is a blank idler that must be removed. snap ring off first, then idler blank. follow the pics. I am learning here too!!!!

Ok we are at the top. fomr this point on, you are ASSEMBLING. That means we are putting it back together, D'oh! Most of the jap writen instructions are translated very well on this website. maybe someone can post a link, so lets continue on, now the next two pics I did not have any guidance, it is my opinion that the idler gear goes on the way the pics show... note : one side is flater, and the other is kinda concaved.

ok fellow xt'rs. I hope to get this finished up now you should have the idler in place and secured with snap ring. you are ready to put in the kick start shaft, you know it fits, because you test fitted it earlier,,right? notice the spring tab, it goes in the slot, right under the kick shaft hole, at the 6 o'clock poition, Now the dierctions say to wind the return spring one half turn, and hook it to the pin, see pic. I had to go one full turn to get the kicker to return to the proper poition. lets look at some pics........

now lets knock out the plug in the side cover, this is the only time you will use a hammer!!!!!! very gently, it dont take much. then press the seal in place, I was able to put the seal in , just by hand Now is a good time to thouroghly clean the gaskeat surface off. I used an axcto knife. and gasket remover..DO NOT use gasket remover,,,it takes paint off see pics
