Wishing everyone a safe, happy, healthy and enjoyable long weekend. If you're traveling keep eyes open for idiots. As for July 4th it should bring our nation together under our flag. Remembering the American Revolution when the United States declared its independence on July 4th, 1776 from the British after defeating them in the revolutionary war. Read all about it HERE. Basically the 13 colonies were pissed off at Britain's tax strategy. Now 246 years later we're still pissed off but not at Britain. Out here we've been having rain so I'd imagine fireworks will be allowed. Glad for those that enjoy the experience. Jeannie and I avoid the crowds now. Our area is mobbed at the moment and will remain that way until Tuesday.

Happy Independence Day!
Pretty dry here, but there is a modest chance for rain over the next few days.

We had some thunderstorms blow through over the weekend that got everything wet again, so no fires that I'm aware of. I played golf with some friends Monday and was surprised at the lack of traffic. It was plenty hot, so I guess everyone was either on the water or enjoying A/C somewhere.

Conditions have been rainy here and "reasonably" cool. To the best of my knowledge, fireworks came off in all the towns that normally set them off. No fires either. Jeannie and I walked around the state campground with American flags. The general mood was amazingly glum. As for crowds, we've got it going on now for Summer. The 4th of July crowds leave and the non 4th of July crowds pile in. Our county sheriff stopped by for a visit on Monday. We're good friends so we had a nice chat. Otherwise an uneventful weekend which is fine. It's raining right now and in the 60s. The water is good.
