After putting another 60 miles on it, I have decided to put back in the original. I feel for my weight it was too much spring. I guess I'll be putting the springs on the market soon.

F.W.I.W. I'm still really enjoying the improvements I've made to my front and rear suspension.
I'm sorry it didn't work out for you Mountainpass. frown

I'm currently winter riding/commuting and only regret having not had enough money to buy a stud gun to stud my new tires.

Between my Tusk gauntlets and oxford essential commuter heated grips...I'm nice and toasty.

Hey man no worries, you told me to just leave it be.

I did find good results just filling it up w/ oil to spec w/ original springs.

Still very happy with this upgrade!
If anyone else tries it, just make sure you're over 200lbs and follow my instructions in regard to the spacers and air/oil volume, or else the ride will be way too stiff.

Hey friends, this is an old thread but I haven't found updated info in the forum, so I thought I'd ask my questions here.

I have a 2006 XT225 and it is pretty soft for my 190 lbs. I've read all sorts of approaches, and I like the idea of progressive springs. I was wondering if the 11-1128 by progressive suspension setup would work for me up front, and the Hyperco 188A0350 would work in the rear (or is something else better?).

There's also an 11-1114 option that's less firm overall that might be preferable given that I'm lighter than the OP.

Maybe people have figured out better approaches, (like cutting down the existing spring and inserting a certain length of spacer), but a lot of the advice was older so I'm trying to learn.

I found my 2005 xt225 had excessive front suspension dive on hard braking. Adding 30ml of fork oil to each leg made a huge difference for street riding. Much less dive. I'm about 185lbs all geared up.
