Good point. I hope the same. Good oil and frequent changes all help a small engine do its best.

I agree. There is nothing else that you can do to an engine that will help extend it's life more than frequent oil changes. I have changed the oil in my XT after a single day of riding in the super dusty AZ desert. I also cleaned the air filter. The oiled foam air filter would be completely caked in dirt (and that's with a completely stock airbox with the snorkel still in place) and there would be chunks of oily dirt laying in the bottom of the airbox. It doesn't matter how good the oil is, or how much it cost. It still gets dirty just as fast as the cheapest oil you can get, and you don't want dirt circulating around in your engine.


The above is my opinion. Your mileage may vary.
1994/2001 custom built XT225 with a ton of aftermarket parts.

LOL, ya the odometer. I do a change every 1,000 miles with full synth oil.
