Starting this month, Microsoft will force upgrades to Windows 10 version 1909 or version 2004 if users haven't kept their PCs manually updated. Microsoft is ending support for Windows 10 version 1903, including Windows 10 Home and Pro, their most used consumer OSs.

If you’re running Windows 10 1903, you’ll be forced to upgrade to version 1909 this month. If you’re on Windows 10 1909, you’ll be forced to upgrade to version 2004 by the spring of 2021.

It won't be possible for users to block these mandatory upgrades - unless they’re willing to mess with the Windows Registry or come up with some magic combination in Group Policy, a hit or miss proposition at best.

If you’re in the 'forced upgrade' group it’s best to upgrade manually yourself, if you can. Otherwise, standby - Microsoft will take over and do it for you, 'ready or not..'
