I know of a white cover from an older bike that is located in Japan. You'd need to remove the decals and paint it to match your bike, and it might take some serious time to arrive because of the pandemic. PM me if you want this info.

Here's another one on eBay. From overseas again, but they are where you find them..

Wow I didn't know they were so hard to find. I ordered a couple of brand new ones to match my blue Clarke tank 3-4 years ago from cheapcycleparts.com. And they were very inexpensive. Keep an eye on eBay, one will show up in the U.S. Jump on it quick. I sold a couple of stock tanks (no dents and no rust, no petcock, but with caps and key) on eBay for $200 each and they sold almost overnight. I am going to order a new petcock while they are still available. Mine is still good, but ethanol gas tends to destroy them. There are a LOT of XT225s out there. Do you have a motorcycle salvage place nearby? At least it is rideable without a side cover.

The above is my opinion. Your mileage may vary.

I have one for sale. Just bought a 2007 but am changing out the plastics for the silver/black color scheme of the 2005s which I prefer. You can send me an email for photo and to discuss price.

Ignore the above post. I’ve decided to keep all the plastic for the time being. Sorry.

I bought a set for mine about 2 months ago for around $350 for the pair.

I think it would be cool to have them professionally scanned and then available to be 3d printed. If you want to pay for the scans I will gladly assist. (no idea what that would cost)

after that, they could just be ordered from shapeways.com

* edit * I sent in a request for a design quote via shapeways..will let you know what cost might be to scan, and then of course to print.

Wow. $350 for 2 of them? No wonder people want to hang onto them. I think I paid under $40 apiece for mine a few years ago, and they were brand new Yamaha parts. It's hard to believe that every single new one, in every single color, is now gone. The XT225 may have been around for a long time (since 1992 in the U.S.) but it was last made in 2007, only 13 years ago. The manufacturer usually provides parts for as long as 10 years, and a lot of online parts places usually have them available for many more years. I have noticed that most of the online parts places like cheapcycleparts.com and bikebandit.com still have most XT225 parts available, but they must be running low, because the prices are going up. If you think you might need any critical parts in the future, you might want to go ahead and get them now, while they are still available. Also you might want to store your XT out of the sun. Here in AZ the sun will turn plastic into dust in a very short time. Fortunately I have a shed to keep my bikes in. But if you don't, you might want to consider a bike cover.

It's kinda nuts how this XT225 market has gone these past few years. Doesn't seem all that long ago we could locate and purchase most anything we needed at fairly reasonable prices, up to and including whole bikes. Today however, with Covid keeping everyone stirred up, and simple light weight dual sports like XT225s and CRF230Ls that do show up for sale being snapped up like hotcakes at a lumberjack breakfast, it's getting to where coming up with OEM parts that don't break the bank cost wise are rare finds anymore. A sign of the times no doubt, and the XT225 market is but a tiny reflection of that much larger dynamic..

I made the right side cover for my 2006 XT225 from black plastic trash can material. I am happy with it for the money.
I don’t have a photo share account to post a photo but I can send one upon request.
