Music is indeed timeless. My tastes are varied as well. I'm a metal head, but I also was a band geek and my wife and i played bluegrass for a few years so there's no telling whats next on my random Playlist.

RIP EVH.

Hi Paul - We had a basement band for 7 years. Just a bunch of us getting together to make some pop music. Playing really helps understand and appreciate others that do so professionally.

I too enjoy rock on the heavier side. Ozzy, Metalica and Queensryche to name a few. Liked Ronnie James Dio (now gone) when he was with Black Sabbath (post Ozzy years). "Heaven and Hell" being one of my favorites. Geoff Tate had an amazing voice when young (Empire Album). I'm sure you know the Righteous Brothers, "Rock & Roll Heaven". Would be a much longer list if recorded now. Still some of the old schoolers continue to rock on!

Going back to 1964 in Denmark, check out The Oscar Peterson Trio knocking out C Jam Blues. YouTube (thankfully) is an archive of great music preserved for all those interested. You're a couple of clicks away from just about any genre and time period.

There's a documentary called "Chasing Sound" about Les Paul which is excellent! We used to see him at Iridiums in NYC when you could enjoy a visit there. Certainly not now. Another one is "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" which is about the Funk Brothers. All the Charlie Parker jazz era musicians behind the scene at Hitsville USA. Enjoy!

You do have a varied choice of music. I can't be doing with some of the stuff around nowadays. The Kinks are my all time favourite band & Roy Orbison my favourite singer, they sang songs that told stories, Lola by the Kinks was magic.

I'm always stuck in a time warp with it.Bon Jovi I think are brilliant, love loads of their stuff. This one in particular, if I posted it right.

Scotlands middle belt eg Glasgow to Edinburgh have a shut down on pubs & restaurants following a spike. Little miss Krankie is on top of the game. A strong woman, what is needed.

Boris will be making an announcement come Monday, likely some areas of northern England & the midlands will be made an example of. People became too complacent with the situation, only got themselves to blame.

Paul - Like "Livin’ On A Prayer" too. Good arrangement by Bon Jovi. Boy it's amazing how time flies and these guys age. Still sound pretty good. You might also enjoy Mike and the Mechanics Silent Running live which is a pretty good facsimile of the studio version.

On the heavier side, Dave Mustaine took heavy metal to another level. He was kicked out of Metalica and a lot of talent went with him. It's an acquired taste. Check out Trust from Cryptic Writings.

The music that goes down well at the Triumph rallies. Always a heavy dose of Highway to hell & Whiskey in the jar also, the old favourites. Rockabilly & Cajun are a great change from the usual heavy metal stuff which often gets played too loud at these venues by bands hiding a lack of skill. Maybe we are getting a bit old for the headbanging stuff, average age at a Triumph rally must now be in the 60's. Mostly the same people from 30 years ago.
