Yes there is a limit which I recall to be about 6 hours. I just went through my admin options hoping to find this parameter which I couldn't find. So I don't know if this is now baked in to the software and variable based on criteria I don't know about. Anyway I think its current setting(s) allow a reasonable amount of time to catch mistakes. An author can always amend a post, quote and correct with no time limits.

The photo is of a '57 BSA 650 'Spitfire Scrambler' identical to the BSA I bought when I was 18. My BSA was literally destroyed when a guy coming the other way turned left in front of me into a drive-in theater in Phoenix one summer evening and I T-boned his vehicle at about 45 mph. Never saw him turn. Was reading the marquee, "James Dean and Elizabeth Taylor in GIANT", one instant - the next thing I knew I woke up in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. The BSA's engine stuck 'on' full throttle and exploded into countless pieces. The only thing I recovered from that bike after release from the hospital was this chunk of one of the destroyed pistons lying in the bottom of the shattered crankcase. Fortunately I survived the crash. Unfortunately the bike didn't..
