Picked up a 84 Yamaha XT250 about 3-4 weeks ago. Replaced the chain, rear sprocket (tried the front, ordered the wrong part 🤦🏻‍♂️), spark plug, oil and oil filter, tires.. definitely running better now.

Have a few questions for you guys though:

1. any ideas on rear tail light and blinker replacements?

2. The front tire is not aligned 100%, what is the best way to realign it?

3. any recommendations for a rear rack and bag that will go in place of the little stock one?

4. Bike has the chain slider guide missing. I just received a new one, however it looks like you have to remove the swing arm to install it. Has anyone done this before?

5. any other recommendations/upgrades you guys have, I’d love it hear it!

Remember to crack the bleed screw when you change the oil.

Check out PMracks at pmracks.com for the XT250 rack. '84? You may need to call them.

Air filter? Hopefully previous owner installed a new one sometime in the last five years. otherwise the material in the filter is suspect as it may start cracking apart. Start with an inspection to check the materials integrity. If suspect order a new one.

Not sure on your XT but the slider guide should be a force-fit (bigger hammer) with a little water/glycol on the backside to help it slide onto the swing arm.

Not sure what you mean by front tire alignment. If comparing the tire to the fender ignore it. Fenders bend and warp over time. You can try loosening the fender mounting bolts and twist into better position but likely will have little impact.

If off side-to-side on the axle - that's a different story. Time to check wheel bearings.

All above low cost (well the PM Racks run 99 - 120 on Amazon).

Enjoy
