Thanks for all the information and pictures. Looks like a lot of fun. Looking forward to riding together once Coronavirus restrictions are lifted. Good to know there will be at least 3 in the group so in case I the novice need to drop out, you'll still have a buddy.

Like you with your 225, I like the simplicity of the XT250, which makes it easier to work on and more reliable. I do all my own maintenance, and enjoy learning how everything works. I also like the long production run of the XT250, which hopefully means they've got all the bugs worked out.

If you are looking for a good Yamaha dealership, I can recommend mine. The (only) salesman gave me a good deal and was very courteous and straightforward with no games. You can message me privately for the name.

I would be putting my bike on a trailer and coming to Orange County. It's a little too far from for this small bike, and I want to save my energy for the trail!
