Welcome. You sure have had some bad luck. I have an XT225 built out of 1994 and 2001 parts, along with a LOT of aftermarket parts. I got my first XT225, the 1994, back in 2008. It had 1800 miles on it. I am still using that 1994 engine, with over 30,000 miles on it, with no problems other than a couple of carb cleanings, which were my fault for leaving gas in the carb for too long. When/if that engine ever fails, I have a 3000 mile 2001 engine to replace it with.
The above is my opinion. Your mileage may vary.
