Although I sold my xt250 5 years ago, I continue to ride on my KTM. I do miss the low seat sometimes. Our run leader John is 75 years young.
This was my most recent ride just before the lockdown here in North Wales, not sure when we get out again.

Thanks for sharing the ride videos, Ben. Always great hearing from you. We're self isolating, here in our remote area anyway. No mandated lockdowns, not yet anyway. Social distancing, stay home, wear masks when you do have to get out, lots of hand washing, etc. So far so good.

Back east, NY, New Jersey, etc. areas hard hit, lockdowns either are or they're a real possibility. Hope your North Wales lockdown produces needed results and doesn't have to be in place too long. We're all looking for this thing to run its course so we can get out of the woods again, which it will in due time.

News out of China sounds hopeful. Things starting to return to at least a semi-normal state, if we're getting the whole story.

Stay safe and best of luck always!

Nice videos, looks like some good fun. Hopefully we'll all get past this sooner rather than later.

Thanks for posting. Glad you guys got out. We could still ride here but the roads/trails are all snowed in still.

Can’t go anywhere here, except for essential travel, Police on the two bridges to the mainland and patrols on the roads spot checking vehicles.
Looks like 6 months of restrictions, but worth it to be safe.
One of the riders in the vids, Richard, was on a brand new husky 2 stroke, it’ll be his only ride on it.

Whatever it takes we'll do it. Better to be overly cautious with restrictions on movement than to pretend things 'won't be too bad'. Looks increasingly like things will end up being considerably worse than people first thought.

Schools in this rural area closed their doors almost 3 weeks ago. Initially they figured they'd likely reopen by now. As of today the state says schools all across Arizona won't reopen till next year, Students have to keep up online with their class schedules, so it's not a picnic by any means.

People are being careful, at least in small communities like this. Masks and protective gloves are common place now. Disinfecting common surfaces has become a way of life. Commercially produced masks are non-existent, so my wife and others are sewing washable scrub masks every day, initially for first responders and medical personnel, with extras available as needs are met.

My youngest son, who is 43 now, felt this is an unprecedented event in human history, something that may upend everything we know before it runs its course. I told him it may be unprecedented to those not prepared to adapt, but it's certainly not without precedent as far as the history of man and the world we live in is concerned.

Plagues of various sorts have impacted our world from before recorded history to the present day. The 'black plague' that decimated Europe a few hundred years ago. The illnesses people brought with them to the Americas when Europeans first arrived, illnesses that nearly wiped out native populations who had no natural immunity to such pathogens. The flu pandemic that swept the US in 1918, sickening and killing a large percentage of the population, especially in crowded cities and to a lesser extent in remote rural areas.

'Pandemic events' like Covid-19 are part of what makes our world the place it is today. Those who take necessary precautions, obeying the rules laid down to lessen the impact and slow the spread of deadly viruses, are part of what will ultimately be the solution, however long it takes to get there.

I am a contrarian on this, but far from a denier.

First, it's hard to imagine an activity that is more social distancing that riding USFS fire roads with absolutely no contact with other human beings. I plan to continue riding for as long as I can.

Second, a site that I respect greatly, https://covid19.healthdata.org/projections is predicting that the outbreak, after peaking mid-April will drop off sharply by the end of June:

April is going to be the month from hell, but it's not the end of the world as we know it.

Don't fix it if it ain't broke, don't break it if you can't fix it.

If April proves to be our toughest month, with the impact of the virus dropping off to a great extent after that, then let's buckle our seat belts and get through it. Hope that turns out to be, and the various worst case projections we hear prove untrue..
