Hi all,

I’m not looking to sell, just curious. I bought a 400 mile flawless exterior 2007 xt225. White tank and blue plastics.

Since it sat, it needed various adjustments and fluid shanges, petcock replaced with another brand new OEM, and tank cleaned and a professional quality coating job. New seals and all after carb cleaning. All of the work done by a clean shop. Very through.

Just curious, for a truly mint bike, professional wrenching to make it flawless operation, is there value? And/or will value grow if it one day becomes retro or throwback?

I would say they go up in value at about the same rate as a Ford Pinto. Not really meant to be bought as a business investment. Just ride it.

Someone had mentioned seeing one for 3k and it was gone really fast. For instance, I could have bought a new bike but none of them (except for the xt259 in fart brown) had the low seat height and affordability. Rumor is the xt250 May be retired after 2020? So possibly this bike xt225 will hold some value?

A really nice XT225 will hold its value rather well. Your '07, in the 'flawless' condition you say it's in, depending on what you paid for it and put into it getting it ready to go again, should sell - if you ever decide to - for plus or minus $2900 - $3000, depending on market conditions at the time.

Good to know. Thank you for your advice!

Yes the flawless meaning the rubber, seat, plastics are not all dried out and look like a new bike. Garage kept under a blanket!

The work done, well that will make those few areas that just sat get back on the same page.

Maybe I misunderstood. I thought you were asking if a bike that retails new for $4000 would someday be worth $5000 or more. Like a 65 Ford Mustang in mint condition would go up in value.
Agreed, they don't depreciate as much as some bikes.
