The movie Groundhog Day starring Bill Murray put a small town in Western Pennsylvania on the map. Punxsutawney PA also know as the weather capitol of the world is located just 20 minutes South of me.This year on February 2nd, the event drew a record breaking crowd of over 40,000 people. Once again I was not one of them which doesn't mean much since I also was not at Times Square this New Years Eve. (I did however attend the International Motorcycle Show in Cleveland). If your looking for a place to party this is it. All night long people wait for the sun to rise to see if Phil will see his shadow. If he does, there will be 6 more weeks of winter, he did not this year signifying an early Spring.

Well by golly the very next day it was Spring, or at least Spring like weather. So I decided to bless the XT seat with my butt for the first time in 2020.

You probably thought You would see a picture of my butt next. No can do Tom, I usually charge for that.

The road to my house, where the pavement ends...

It was a beautiful day and I wanted it to go on forever. The more I rode, the deeper onto the woods I went. Not sure if you can tell in photo the but thats all ice on the road.

After riding the berm for a while I came to an opening on the top of a hill. The XT was right at home here and I took a Break. It's very photogenic don't you think?

The daylight was ending so I headed home. It was good to run the bike in the middle of winter. First time in years it wasn't zero degrees and 2 feet of snow. I started thinking about that Groundhog, maybe he does know whats going on. Thinking maybe next year I will attend the events, on the XT!

Great pics! Nice to get in a ride when you normally couldn't. I love rural Pa, my parents are from there. My eldest son was born in Port Allegany. I loved riding the curvy, hilly roads on my new '79 XS750.

Fun ride report and nice photos! Thanks for keeping us in the loop. It doesn't get much better than enjoying a pretty spring like day riding rural roads on your XT in the middle of the winter!..

Thanks for the RR. Looks like you're having a light winter out there so far. Nice you were able to get a ride in. Certainly not the case here. It's snow bikes, snowmobiles, skis, snowshoes or stay home, Depending on what happens in March and April which can be BIG snow months, high country roads won't dry out until August.

Thats cool, I live near Cook Forest which is on the edge of the Allegheny National Forest. A great place to ride with a lot of dirt roads. My son had an XS 650 he sold to buy a new XT250 to ride with me, His hot shot brother then went out and bought a Honda Rally.

It's great to live near your ride areas. One of the reasons I enjoy being where I am.

One son on a new XT250, the other on a Honda Rally! You guys are set for some fun times together!..

Great photos, nice ride report. Thanks for sharing. Keep 'em coming as the roads clear out and the hills turn green.

And a sweet build on that bike!

Thanks on the build. I really enjoy working on the bike. Seat Concepts is next.
