4" of snow the night before and 19F at the house early AM. Most of the snow melted in the sun which popped out around noon. Didn't need to shovel the driveway as the sun did the work. Supposed to be really cold tonight like single digits. Cloudy now and 25F with light winds. Not looking forward to the snow as much as last season. Hopefully a couple of good ski days will restore enthusiasm. We'll see.

What say U?

No snow this side of the pond.....yet. Been really wet the past few weeks with floods in some areas. Here, it's dry today but the cold wind doesn't give any enthusiasm to get out for a ride. I seem to need a min of 8c nowadays with little wind. Ha, getting soft in me old age.

September began with record breaking heat and "flash drought", now October has been cool and wet with 3 tropical storms of varying degree passing through. The temp is supposed to dip below freezing for the first time tomorrow. The farmer's almanac says we'll have a snowy winter, which is fine with me. I'd much rather have snow than 35 deg and rain, which is what's normal.

My temp limit is about 40F (4C) for my relatively short commute, but that's only if its sunny as well.

It has been frigid for the past several days here in northern Nevada. High temp yesterday was 30 degrees F, this morning the National Weather Service reports -2 F. I really want some of that global warming to show up soon....

5F at the house this morning with 4" of snow dumped everywhere. That's about 2.5 hours to plow, shovel and clean up. Temps are supposed to drop a bit colder tonight then a warming trend begins. Sunny now and in the teens. Winter here is predicted to be somewhat heavy. That helps avoid Summer droughts which is good. Not a damn thing to be done about it except to try and stay comfortable and adapt.

It's about time! No snow here just yet, but it's colder than a witch's t!t with the wind chill factor keeping us inside by the fire. Last year we had 12" of snow by mid October. This year we're still waiting for snow clouds to move in - hopefully soon 'cause we need the moisture!..

Any impacts up north from the fires out there? Some years ago we rode a bit in the Eldorado NF. Tinder dry when we were there. Home to the famous Rubicon Trail.

Glad you got a ride in. SOL here with snow up in the mountains.

Wow, 84F seems over the top hot! We see temps like that maybe 10 days out of the year, certainly not in the fall with winter just around the corner..

I heard a good one today... The temp went from 95 to 35 like it saw a state trooper. laugh

And in reality, the temp did drop from 70 to 35 in about 5 hours last Thursday. First frost of the season this morning.
