Hello All! I am Justin from south western PA. Just picked up my first 05 xt225 a few months ago and have been enjoying the heck out of it. I had a TW200 before and loved the heck out of it, but man the 6th gear on the xt is pretty darn sweet. I started to farkle the bike out a bit, wider DMO pegs, got some nice used flexx bars, good tires, new chain/sprockets, seat cover, checked the valves, changed the oil, and put a fresh filter into it. I picked it up for a song, it wasent running, didnt have a title, and wasent in the best cosmetic shape. I went over the whole thing and found a blown fuse, and a short in the wiring she fired right up. Has 9200 miles on it, and runs great, hope to get another 9k miles out of it.
One thing i want to start playing with is the front fork, I am having a hard time finding fork springs besides the $150 racetechs and the cogents ones. Any other options, i know changing the springs and oil to my TW really helped, and the emulators stepped it up to the next level. Of course after that, i know the drill and ill be seeking out a shock or a spring for the back.
In terms of riding, i raced motocross in district 5 for quite a few years, 3 acl torn acl's and many surgeries later, i got into riding mountain bikes and rode of moto in the woods on the ktms and such, now im 37 with a pretty beat up body from being young and dumb, and just enjoy being outside and riding, its not all about the speed anymore, just about the ride, so I have a super tenere and an fj09 also in stable, I have a rack i can haul my mtb on my super tenere or fj with, its a sweet setup for a total 2 wheel day. The XT i great to get on and just got out and explore with, get lost anywhere, and no hurry to get there or get back. I see adding a small rack onto the back someday, and possibly some small soft bags.
Anywho, sorry for the long winded introduction, cant wait to be part of the forum, and hopefully i can give back and contribute, because I have already took a lot of information lurking on here the last few months.

Paragon was a riding area near Hazleton, PA. We rode there years ago and it was a pretty nice place. Last off road riding was Feb 3,4 2007. Some additional information is HERE.

"and just enjoy being outside and riding, its not all about the speed anymore, just about the ride..."
And that, young man, sums up my riding experience for the last decade or more. I just passed the 50 year mark for riding dirt bikes, and I can truly say that I enjoy it as much now as I ever have. For a long time it has been about the bike, the mountains, and the experience... and not the speed and/or competition.
