Hello, I am from eastern Iowa. I recently acquired a 1994 XT225 a few days ago. I had the intention of doing an engine swap into my 1987 TW200 but now I am rethinking it since I am starting to like the XT225 just as much as my TW200. The XT225 is just too nice of a bike to scavenge parts off of. Thanks for the add!

Welcome to the site. Nice to have you here, and a great find on the XT225 you picked up. It's an altogether different animal than your TW200. As you're discovering using it for parts after you've ridden it awhile isn't as appealing as you thought it might be. So enjoy the XT for what it has to offer, and in the meantime you'll come up with another engine to swap into your TW. Then you'll have the best of both worlds to enjoy!..
..I'd rather have questions I can't answer, than answers I can't question.. Dr. Phil

Welcome!
I can understand on your change of heart toward the TW200 repower idea.
IMHO, a good example of an XT225 is notably more versatile than the TW. The XT225's really are a good little bike. Simple, air cooled, carb equipped on and on. Except for rare circumstances, almost everything can be fixed by the end user that has motorcycle mechanical skills.
Enjoy your XT!
