I epoxied this tank twice, but its leaking again. Its just too far gone to keep patching. Even the questionable condition used tanks on ebay are too pricey. Has anyone here found a tank from a different model bike that fits?

RocMoc, AZ here said he has a tank. Someone was inquiring about that. Might try to PM him. Clark makes aftermarket large tanks. Don't know about pricing, however. I doubt you'll find a cheap tank in good condition. Good luck.

Yup I do! California tank with the extra opening for carbon canister but can be plugged with a small piece of hose and bolt with clamp, will not leak. NO RUST includes shrouds & cap. Black in color with no decals or dents. $220 plus shipping. Here is the catch, I am headed to Big Bend National Park SOON and will not be able to ship for a few weeks until I my return. YES taking the XT225 with me!!! PM me if anyone is interested but I'm not in a hurry to sale so there is time. Thanks Muniac,

Thanks for the offer rocmoc, but if I can't find something in the $100 range, I'll probably go with the Clarke tank. I am trying to broaden my search and consider non XT225 tanks. It would not have to be a perfect fit, but with a minimum of modifications (Jethro engineering),kind of fit.

That is fine Craig. Good hunting and make sure they send you pics of the inside of the tank.

After a couple weeks of looking, any tank I could find for under $100 didn't look that much better than the one I have. So today I patched the leak in my existing tank. It was in a pin hole leak in a different spot than my previous patches. So I'm probably just pushing a tank replacement down the road a few month, until another leak pops up.
