Hi, my 1986 XT 225's carburettor joint has come to bits, the rubber has separated from the metal and needs replacing.
It's a very early bike and the part number is 1KH 13586. Unfortunately the later 2LN series doesn't fit. The same part was used on similar era TT 225's
It's no longer available so I'm unable to buy it new.
Does anyone know where I might find a new old stock or a decent used one please ?
Many thanks

OK I checked Yamaha's Parts Site and for 1986 only the XT350 is listed. No 225, 250 or Serow. The Air Cleaner diagram shows 2 carburetor joints. Hard to tell, but these appear to be between the carburetor and intake port. Part #'s below: 55V-13586-01-00 42U-13596-01-00 You may want to do some research here. Perhaps the TTR-225 joint will fit?? Miller Cycles in Provo, UT may be able to help. Dan Miller is the owner. Search on the internet for contact info. Good luck.

Many thanks Muniac.
The carb on my XT is the same (or at least looks the same) as the R/H carb in the parts list for the XT 350.
The joint for this carb is. 55V13586-001-00. I think that I can assume the carb will fit into it but not sure if it has the same fittings onto the head or at the same angle.
Good thought though I will see if I can get some dimensions for this or some bigger pics.
All the best
John

Glad to assist. It appears there is a left/right situation there. The good news is both of those parts didn't indicate unavailable.
Some years back I had Dan do work on both my XT225s (2003). He knows bikes really well. Old school guy so I don't know about email and such. Just noticed you're in the UK. Hope that distance doesn't preclude reaching out if you need to.
The parts diagrams are "just enough" to identify what's in an assembly. They don't win any details contest in my book. Good luck running that part down.

Muniac, I have found a phone number for Dan and left him a voicemail. I guess I called too late in the day. I'll try him again on Saturday.
The parts from the xt 350 are pretty cheap on EBay so I might just buy them to try. It's the best way to find out if they will work or not. Just got to wait while they come from China !
I'll let you know how I get on

That's good you made the call. He does a lot of riding over there so you might need to try a bunch of times to catch up. Or maybe the eBay parts are fine and case closed. Sounds like this isn't going to be a quick fix.
