The snorkel is removed and I replaced the stock with a UNI air filter. No other mods to air box at this point. Better experience today on the bike. May not have to go back in.

Set the idle mixture screw at 2 turns. Let it warm up and went for a ride. Seems to be running fairly well again. I had just a hint of that sputtering in the mid throttle range once or twice. Not really enough to call it a problem at this point. I'm gonna just let it roll for a bit and readdress the issue (if I have to at all) when it gets a little warmer. Kind if cold in Colorado right now and very little ground that isn't covered with snow.

Thanks again for all the input!

These bike are notoriously slow to warm up (which isn't a bad thing because it means they're hard to overheat). "Warmed up" generally means having been ridden at moderate speeds for 10 minutes, longer if it's cold.

The snorkel being removed with a UNI filter will help compensate for the altitude. 3 turns on the mixture is typical up to maybe 2500ft. 2 turns at 7000ft sounds reasonable, though I'd expect it to feel a little rich in the 11k ft passes out there.

The typical solution with these bikes is not to rejet for the altitude but open up the airbox instead. The stock airbox is somewhat restrictive. You can take a quick ride with the air filter cover removed and see how that changes the fueling.

This shall pass, be still and know.
