After setting in my garage of nearly 6 months after purchase I have started the R&R of the stock tank with the Clark tank. Going to take a little time as I am also going to check valve gap while the tank is off. Was asked back in July about the comparison of the stock tank and the Clark. A little wider but not really noticeable. What is, is the height. The Clark tank is taller. The top of the tank installed is the same height of my cross bar on the handlebars and is deeper in the front wings. Length of course is the same. The Clark tank is a little lighter in weight. I don't store any pics online so can not load a pic, sorry! Taking time because this Desert Rat limits time spent in Temps below 60F and we are way below my that currently, LOL!

Rocmoc, good luck on the install. I have a Clark tank on my '95 XT, the one I rode that day that you guided near Kino Springs. I do notice that the forks hit the edge of the tank when at near maximum turn. Not an issue when riding at speed, but be aware.

Stay warm! Heard it snowed in Tucson yesterday.

I noticed yours as you drove up in your pickup. Yeah I believe the forks hitting the tank is just an adjustment. When I put the tank on temp they hit and just small small move rearward of the tank and the forks cleared. Will take that in consideration in the final mount. Biggest problem today was getting the lower bolt out of the front valve cover. Could not get an allen wrench on and the inside of the bolt appeared to be rounded which leads me to believe the valves have near be adjusted. Finally was able to get the bolt out with a pair of near special teeth vice-graps. Will come up with better bolt when I reinstall the cover. A little bit every day!

Tank fits perfectly. No hitting of the front shocks on the front of the tank. There is room for adjustment moving the tank a touch rearward and the seat still fits. Blancolirio on Utube has a video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEeY3v-2vVQ that is a big help. Also watched his adjustment valves video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ozrhxlitq4w which was a big help with the valve adjustment. There are little visual hints & tips in his videos that solve the problems you will encounter. Big help!

Everything went as planned. Tank feels / seems like the factory tank when riding, no difference. Looks great and glad to have a dirt bike tank cap & vent. Valve adjustment went as planned after I was able to get the one bolt out that is directly behind the frame with little room. Used one of the other bolts on the re-install as I posted earlier it was rounded a bit inside the socket of the allen bolt. Both valves were really loose which supports my earlier post that I did not think anyone had adjusted the valves since the bike was new in 2005. Runs a bit stronger, I can feel it. BUT don't get me wrong, it is not enough to change the overall performance . I will be selling my factory tank as it was surprisingly clean inside. There was not anything on or plugging the filters on the fuel valve when I removed them. Tank is Black, no decals. Lock on the cap does not work.

Overall, very pleased! Good day!

Love my Clarke tank! Installed it first on my 1992 XT225, then transferred it to the 2007.
I often go for very long rides in very remote country and it is great not to have to worry about fuel. And to be able to just look down and see how much fuel is left in the tank since the tank is translucent. No problems with the tank at all in the many years I've had it.

Glad it worked out. I have a Clarke tank in the garage waiting for me to put on my '01. Nice to hear they fit on so well.

Had a chance to ride with the new tank this weekend, needed gas. I would not known anything had changed except my pant leg not catching on the edge of the air wing/fold for direct air on the engine.
