Hi All, I'm going to be visiting Tucson/Sonoita at the end of NOV and will have my trusty XT with me. Planning day rides for three consecutive days with base camp near Hwy 82/83 intersection in Sonoita. Group of four riders, all out-of-towners, but with Tucson roots...

Any good trails/rides in that general area? Also near Patagoinia, Canelo etc. I'm planning to ride Greaterville/Madera Cyn and Las Cienegas, which appear to be pretty mellow trails, on one day.

Seeking up to/including intermediate trails. If you're local and want to lead a ride, please do! Thanks in advance for sharing, InsaneDiego

Greaterville (trail to the towers) & La Cienegas has the tough trails, some I take my SXS on but not the bike. Local National Forest Office has a map of the trails / forest roads. Some impassible! La Cienegas has trail map board on road as you enter with paper map to take with you. If they are all gone go to the little house behind the large farm house at the end of the road. The little house is the visitor's center has more maps. Maybe in the area myself after Thanksgiving. There are very scenic rides along the border. All kinds of signs warning about crossers but the Border Patrol is as thick as flies so no worries.

Rocmoc - that was a great ride on Saturday, thanks for having me along. Really cool vistas and lots of mining remnants along the AZ/MX border. Now I know how you got your email handle! Look fwd to riding again soon with you and your AZ riding posse.

Regards

Glad you guys hooked up, rode and enjoyed yourselves. That's what it's all about. Company on a trail ride is a lot safer too.

Just wondering if you changed out the broken spoke(s) before heading to Arizona? Guessing you did, but don't know for sure..
