Here we need to get a sticker from an approved refrigerant reclamation provider. Not sure what that costs. Once the appliance has that sticker, Recla Metals here in town will crap it and pay you the going rate for metals.
I too pick up trash. Along our road it's mostly Coors Light beer bottles thrown from vehicles. It sucks when they land on the other side of barbed wire. My neighbor has 160 acres fenced in fronting the road for about 1/2 mile.
Property here goes back the the homestead act in parcels of 160 acres. Back in the day you dug a hole dumped trash in then burned it up. Some still do that currently. Old habits (bad or good) die hard I guess.
Paddling is fun. We had two inflatable kayaks we could fit in backpacks. We'd take all the gear up on the XTs for paddling some of the alpine lakes.
