If you're a Windows 10 user you've likely had to stop what you were doing at some point and wait while your computer rebooted and reconfigured itself, simply because MS updated your device at an inconvenient time. That's extremely frustrating according to the massive amount of user's complaints posted about it. Microsoft finally says they've heard these complaints and intend to do something about it.

MS says it's going to update Windows 10's "reboot logic" to be more "adaptive and proactive". They say they're coding a "predictive model" OS update that can "accurately predict" when the best time to restart your device is.

Meanwhile they say they'll abandon their aggressive update policy and check to see if you're currently using your device before initiating a restart. They'll also try to predict if you've simply stepped away for a moment and will return shortly if they find your computer momentarily idle.

Users who've experienced untimely Windows 10 updates, restarts, reconfigurations, and reboots have expressed their frustrations openly. So it's long overdue that MS has finally heard these complaints and plans on doing something to alleviate the problem.

Good luck with that. Seriously.

If companies see user experiences potentially negatively impacting their wallet, they will listen. The larger the company the more complaints required to make changes. And the process is usually slow. We all know the Windows experience. If you're an employee using a company owned PC, you'll likely not have an O/S choice. Even installing software isn't an option anymore. Those days are long gone. Just about totally removes the Personal from PC.

As for technology, we may all be at the beginning of a potential downfall. The ill conceived Windows O/S is really the least of our troubles. The coupling of media with smart mobile devices concerns me more. As these devices have displaced reality for many young people. Because these device are many people's reality the real world goes largely ignored. As do the facts. And many of the large tech companies are quick to seize a profit opportunity. One could ask at what cost(s)?

Microsoft isn't a major player in this market IMHO. Nothing like Google, FaceBook, Twitter, etc. The amount of internet advertising/messaging that Google controls is staggering. FaceBook, as I write, is still embroiled in a censorship and data sellout scandal. Market forces have punished the company with a 20% drop in its stock price. How does this happen? And as users should we be more diligent of what's behind the scene to include fancy pages and splashy graphics?

I only mention this briefly and superficially to call attention to Jurassic Park's theme. Just because mankind has the technology, doesn't mean it's a good idea to use it. And that old movie points out just how wrong things can go too. So where does mankind find the wisdom to move forward? Some say God, bible, stars, higher spiritual powers, profits. Others seem just inherently smart enough (and arrogant about it) to know the proper direction for us all. The so called, experts. I'm not that convicted and/or assured. Perhaps all of the above and maybe none of the above. I could wish for a congenial blend but I know that's a wet dream. Father time and Mother nature will likely answer the questions if we live long enough.

On that cheery note, go out and do something fun and enjoyable. Make each day count for something good and know the ladder of success won't be climbed with hands in pockets.
