Just returning from a trip to the NorthWest and happen to be a short 14 miles from Clark Tanks. Short story is I now have a New Clark Natural/Translucent Tank. They had blue & black in stock but kindly produced my tank over the weekend. Nice people with two building on property, one a sales room & storage and the other the production building. Suppose to get a shirt mailed to me as my size was out of stock. Saved a little over anything I have seen online but worth it as I was there. Would not travel just to get the tank as online price are nearly as good as I got. Will be home soon and install. Will be selling my metal tank, all Black and no rust in the in-line filter in the two years I have now own the bike. List of mods is nearly complete!

What's the range with a Clarke tank? Stock tank is 2.3 US gal Clarke is 4.1 US gal So, Clarke range is 1.78 times the stock range.

Never seen one over here, lot of extra weight up top I s'pose. 11.3 lbs of extra gas. Being plastic, I'd doubt the tank itself would weight much more than the stock tank. Does the Clark tank use the stock petcock? Is there any info on how much "reserve" gas is in the Clark tank?

Hi peej,
I don't have one but have researched them a bit. Yes, it uses the stock petcock. Not sure how big the reserve is, but I have heard/read that some of the fuel can get "trapped" in the right side of the tank. Sort of a forced reserve. To get access to the remaining fuel, the bike needs to be stopped and leaned way to the left. This bugs some people enough that they modify the tank with a tube which connects the two sides of the tank, near the bottom.

I bought the Clarke tank for my 1992 XT225 and when I ended up with a 2007 model I transferred the tank to the new bike. Love this thing! For those who live in populated areas a larger tank may not necessary but where I live it's either that or carry a spare gas can. I'd post a photo but no idea how to do that anymore what with the Photobucket debacle.

Will be home tomorrow and start the install. When I have both tanks off, I will take a side by side pic. Also there is a really good video on youtube, "XT 225 CLARKE FUEL TANK INSTALLATION" by blancolirio. I tried to copy/paste the link but would not work at the location I am at now. A search on youtube of the title or youtuber will easily produce the video.
