This is my XT. I purchased it around 7 years ago but really haven't ridden it much. When I lived in Virginia, there were really limited numbers of places that you could ride but now that I'm in Oregon, that has changed for sure.

Ultimately, I want to ride the Oregon and/or Washington Backcountry Discovery routes and depending on how that goes, the Continental Divide Trail.

Right now, it's pretty close to stock but I have added a Seat Concepts seat, Clarke tank, oversize pegs and gel grips. I really want to find a lightweight luggage system that isn't too costly and maybe put some put higher bars on it. Other than that, I really just need to ride it.

I recently rebuilt the carb on it and it was working fine but I got something stuck in the needle valve and gas was leaking out of it like crazy. I ordered a 90 degree Visu-filter and a new petcock for it. I've got to pull that carb again and clean it out again I guess.

Kelly - Embedded photos need to end in jpg, png, etc to display. You'll need to use a photo hosting service like IMGUR that provides clean URLs to photos. That one is free. Others like SmugMug cost money. Your links above require joining first to view photos. Most won't bother with that.

Berryman B-12 is a good carb cleaner. Available usually at auto parts stores.

Sometimes the float just sticks a little and a modest whack with a plastic hammer or screwdriver handle will knock it loose and return it to normal function, no disassembly required.
