Does anyone use there XT225 exclusively on hard road, blacktop, concrete, wet & dry? If so, what tire are you running, and what is your opinion of them? I don't do any off road riding so I don't need any kind of knobby tire, just something strictly for the street. Something really sticky. I would like something close to the original sizes, no bigger, no smaller. Thanks. Signed: Still Can't Decide

Here is a Tire Fitment thread where many have weighed in on tires they like. Perhaps you'll find some useful information there.

From being around here and other forums I will say that the vast majority of people really use the XT225 as a true dual sport, and many use it much more off-road than on.

Having said that, there is the whole "Super Motard" craze that certain folks love. Some manufacturers even make Super Motard versions of their dual sport bikes, like

So to find nice street tires for your XT225, perhaps finding a super motard forum and asking there would provide a good range of answers/opinions.

I do 99% of my riding on the streets. I have Shinko 700 series tires. They're knobby dual sport tires, but they work extremely well on the pavement. In the rain, or on dry pavement. Aggressive leans, no problem. Going with these you would always have tires that can take you off road, because you never know what the future may bring. And they just look cool.

Does anyone know if a set of Avon RoadRiders would be a good choice for street riding? This is the toughest decision I have ever made when buying tires for a bike and I've been riding almost fifty years now. Damn! Avon RoadRider

Those Avon's look like they'd be great for 100% road riding. That said, I'd still prefer some sort of on/off tread on the XT even though I'm mostly riding pavement. Anyway, they're just tires; you can always swap them out if you don't like them.

I'm sure the Avon's will work fine. As mentioned above... the Shinko 700/705 or the Kenda K761 are also perfectly fine road tires.
This shall pass, be still and know.

2014 Xt250 that rides exclusively pavement.

I have the shinko 705 set and will likely order it again. good tires for the price and they really last. I'd estimate i've got 15000 km on this set and there's tons of life left on it.
