Welp the journey finally ended. I flew back to the States in early May. The little XT 225 made it all the way to Ushuaia. It had about 32,000 miles on it, with 25,000 from this trip.

I sadly left the moto down there. In a sad, sad twist of events the day I arrived in Ushauaia at the end of the world the engine began to knock super hard. If I had to guess it was the bearings in the connecting rod. It just wasn't worth fixing at that point especially since I wasn't going to pay $1,700 to ship it home at the end.

It was a good bike and served its purpose. Long live the XT!!!

Thanks for all the help along the way.

Justin

P.S. Sorry I feel so far behind on the blog.

Justing - WOW, that's one hell of a ride!! I'm sure your adventure(s) will make (and have made) for a fascinating story. Hope you can recap more of it here. Thanks for your chronicle thus far. No problems with blog timing. It's still here waiting to soak up information. As for XTs, there will be others to fit the current riding bill. Welcome back.

Glad you're back safe and sound Justin. Just finished reading your blog posts. What an adventure you had! Thanks for sharing it in photos and text with the rest of us. Your XT will hopefully find new life where you parted company with it. The experiences you enjoyed during the 25k plus miles you put on it during your trip will be with you forever, as will the memory of that tough little Yamaha! May all your adventures to come be as interesting and as well documented as your ride from Colorado to South America!..
