Does anyone make one specifically designed for the xt225? Or a really good universal one. Thanks

I have a National Cycle Deflector windshield. It's not specifically for the XT but it is a smaller type that fits the 225 and works very well.

I've got a Slip Streamer S-06-T "Spitfire" that I'm fairly happy with. ProCycle.us sells a narrow "dual-sport" Slip Stream model for about the same amount. The clamps seem sufficient for forest roads but probably not for really bouncy trails, but then you probably wouldn't want a windscreen getting in your way on trails. Hey skypupbob, do you have a pic of the windshield on the bike and where did you get it? Thanks for your response. Beaker, was this a direct bolt on, or did you have to modify it? I like the looks of it. Thanks again.

At some point I will buy it and install it. Regarding trail use, I'm a sitter so I don't think it will bother me. We'll see.

Sorry digger no pics of it. Was on bike when I got it from my brother, I think he got it from National cycle. It looks very similar to the Spitfire that beaker has, mounts the same with handlebar clamps.

I have an Aerflow windscreen. Works well ant easy to install. It required removal of handlebar risers however.

I just bought a National Cycle deflector screen for my bike.Fits great.I like that theres 2 knobs to turn and it comes right off.I tried it yesterday and i just didnt care for it.Blocks to much wind for my liking. Maybe it was because it was so hot and humid out but i like the wind blowing on me for a change. Its a welcome change compared to my goldwing. Ill probably end up putting it on ebay. also Bought a rear rack from precision racks and a nelson rigg rear bag.Excellent rack and bag.Id post a pic but im not sure how to do it....when i figure it out ill post a pic

If you're on a tight budget like I am and you don't mind a smaller shield, it is probably much more cost efficient to make one. Buy some clear acrylic sheet and bolt it to the front "cowling" I the bike. Although the angle is too steep, you can use something as an angle to make the windscreen stand staighter up in front. Personally, I bought a pair of rubber door stoppers from Walmart which actually seem to have a pretty good angle to them.
It probly won't be "sexy", but if your aiming for functional, I will be posting pics once I have mine installed with a review on how well it works. I don't plan on making a huge touring shield, but some ADV riders windscreens only stock up about 3 inches over the cowling and those riders claim that it's efficient at keeping the wind off your chest. I figure I should be able to do the same. We will soon find out!
Keep it simple

I wouldn't recommend acrylic as it isn't impact resistant. Use polycarbonate sheet instead. Usually 1/8" (3mm) thick sheet is best. Good luck with your project.
