Not to put you off but I met a guy the other day who has 16 bikes in storage. When asking if they were for sale he told me they were all for sale at the right price but nobody seems to want them so he keeps them all and rides them alternately. Apparently he has the space and doesn't need the money. I' working on a 1987 XT225 that I paid $200 for. So far the bike has cost me $1400 and counting. I reckon I'd be lucky to get $700.

If you actually do put your bike up for sale, start here in the "I Am Selling" section. Many have closely followed your rebuild report and know the excellent work you've done. If we have a 'For Sale' post of the bike to refer others to, with good photos and a short review of the work that's been done, you might not need to pursue other sale avenues.

If you do post it for sale elsewhere, refer potential buyers back here for an in depth look at the extent of detailing you've put into the bike. That will enhance your sale's prospects.

As people have noted, selling the bike won't be easy given all you have invested in it and the niche group of buyers you are targeting. But never say never! You may not recover everything, but you'll come close enough to make it all worthwhile if you do a good job marketing and you're patient doing so.

Good luck Gary..

Thank you. I am putting it up for sale today. It won't be cheap but for one one that wants an awesome bike, it will be worth it.
