Did any of you folks enter the trial last w/e? Seems it was a fairly tough one in the early stages with the weather. A few Serows in it as usual.

Hi Paul,

I was in the Land's End this year, on my Serow. It was my 18th Land's End and the worst weather I've ever encountered in an MCC trial, with the possible exception of the 2009 Exeter Trial. It rained heavily from the start until about 0700 on the Saturday morning, about 13 hours in total. To make matters worse it was also very cold. There were many retirements, but I made it to the finish.

I think the XT225 Serow is by far the most popular machine used in MCC trials.

Cheers,

Ian.

Yes I've heard how bad it was of our two other chums who retired, soaked through. John who got the silver said, "I was ok, I had a spare pair of dry gloves". Ha, he's been doing it a long time also, on a Triumph 500.

Good on you for finishing in those conditions. Usually 7 or 8 Serows enter these trials eh, I often go & watch the Edinburgh trial. Best when Bamford clough was a section, I always watched it there.

I think I know the John you're referring to.

I'll be entering the Edinburgh as usual and most likely on the Serow. It's turning out to be a great machine and I wish I'd have discovered them years ago when they were new.

Shame about Bamford being lost - it may yet be included as a section once more.
