80 degrees in February...in Kentucky! I decided to take the afternoon off and go for a ride. During one point I was bucking 30 MPH headwinds. I was having trouble maintaining 55 mph. On the return I had a tailwind, and the bike performed admirably. After riding the ST1100, the XT was like riding a bicycle that goes 70.

I feel the same way after riding my Stratoliner 1900cc, but still very fun...

High 70's here too. Near record high yesterday and supposed to break the record high today. I'm hoping the warm weather helps quash the flu that running around. It's gonna be really odd turning on the AC in February, though its supposed to be back in the 30's within a week. Gotta love winter in the south.

9F this morning at the house. Flu is reported to be ebbing now. So far we haven't come down with any of it although many in the area have. Fingers crossed our luck continues.

Snow storms coming in now building up the alpine snow pack. 550 was closed yesterday including Red Summit Pass, Molas Pass and Coalbank Pass pretty much covering Quray to Durango. CDOT does a superb job of maintain that road. Road is all open now.

550 about 1 mile north of Red Mountain Summit. American Girl Mine is far right a tad further than halfway up frame.

BC Skiing in fresh powder.

Had about an inch of snow two nights ago.

Down to 18F early this morning. Not supposed to get out of the high 30sF this afternoon. With the breeze that's blowing it's cold outside!..

Been a warm winter so far, not like we're used to. But days like this mean the wood stove gets a workout..
