What is the easiest way to adjust the fuel mixture screw on my 92 XT225 when the engine is hot? I'm finding it hard to work a small screwdriver in there without touching something very hot. Are extended mixture screws available?
I bought one of these, but it did not fit.

You will have to find the size screwdriver that works best. I too think this is the best way to find the proper a/f adjustment, as all bikes are a little different.

Wear gloves.

The mixture screw is a "set it and forget it" thing. It shouldn't require routine fiddling.

This shall pass, be still and know.

I made one out of a 1" circle of 1/4" rubber.
I cut it out with a hole saw and then drove a flat-blade bit into the center hole.
You could set it when cold....2½ - 3 turns out from seated.

You could put the screw bit in a 1/4" socket.
