Hey Guys, I can't find this gasket on the parts diagram. Anyone know the part number or where located. Thanks!

I don't see that part either. In your picture it looks kind of crude. Just a guess, I wonder if it is possible that the PO had a leak there, and made his own gasket.

Could just get a sheet of gasket material at the auto parts store and make yourself one.
This shall pass, be still and know. 2006 XT225, UNI filter, ProTaper bars, MSR handguards, SS front brake line, Shinko 241's.

I could make the gasket. I am wondering if Yamaha intended there to be a paper gasket between the bottom of the tank and the petcock..

Hi Garywi, no there isn't a paper gasket, just a more narrow version of the one that you have, that sits perfectly in the groove of the petcock. They sell online for a few dollars but the size is very common, so any carb shop etc should be able to supply a replacement, rather than buying a whole replacement unit (which would be the Yamaha way). You have probably already seen this, but you can get the oem o-ring from a dealer for a few dollars. Part# 4X8-24512-00-00. The one in your picture does look flat and in need of replacement. Should be all you need.

Thanks Guys. Yes, I have the yamaha rubber gasket. This does look like a home made paper gasket from previous owner.
Quick question, do you guys use thread sealant on the two bolts that go into the gas tank.
Do you use RTV gasket sealer on the rubber yamaha gasket.
Or, do you just put everything back together stock as is, no sealants. Thanks!
