Hi all,
I am a new rider, having recently completed the 3 day motorcycle safety training course and obtained my endorsement. I live in North-central Idaho and own a 2013 Yamaha XT250. I chose the XT250 because I live on a gravel road and there are a lot of unpaved roads to explore in the area, but also want to ride the beautiful paved back roads we have. Also, its light, flickable, easy to work on, is relatively bulletproof, and was inexpensive to purchase (used). Plus it has a relatively low seat height (by shaving the seat foam, I was able to lower it enough to get the balls of both feet down -important for confidence for a new rider).

Welcome! I chose my XT225 for exactly the same reasons! Lots of good information available on this site - a lot of great people willing to share their knowledge of these bikes and riding in general. So should you have any questions, ask away!

Welcome to the site as a new USER. Enjoy and ride safely. How far are you away from Stanley? Some nice trail riding there.

6 hours isn't around the corner. But should you want to take a few day riding trip they have some good trails there. We transported our bikes in a van. Ride safely.
