Google will include Tab-Under blocking in its Chrome web browser in the near future. Tab-Under blocking has to do with sites you're looking at opening new tabs in your browser to display advertising or get you to click on third-party sites in order to generate revenue. Most of the time these are annoying sites that you have no real interest in to begin with.

Chrome's current Popup Blocking doesn't prevent sites from spawning these sorts of unwanted new tabs, and certain sites take this to the extreme by launching lots of new tabs in the browser.

No current web browser blocks Tab-Under popups, but those of us who use Chrome won't have to fight this on our own too much longer!..

Pop-Up ads aren't the problem. They're easy enough to be rid of. It's the problem we have with certain web sites that spawn extra unwanted pages when you open them. Currently no browser, Chrome, Firefox, Edge or otherwise, comes with a "Tab-Under blocker." However Google is on the verge of solving that problem by providing a Tab-Under blocker in Chrome.

By the way, MS now offers its Edge browser for both Mac and Android. However instead of being based on the code for the Edge browser in Win 10, it's based on Chromium's open source browser code, the same that Google's Chrome browser is based upon. Which, in the case of Edge, is a good thing because it's a better, faster, cleaner code base than Edge in Win 10 runs on.

OK, I thought you were talking about this website. I guess I haven't been on any website that does that.

Just for the record, this website doesn't engage in ads that spontaneously open new windows. Display ads run in the left/right portals. And they pay the bills.

I use Chrome on the pi board and it runs well. Haven't had any issues with obnoxious display ads. Sites I visit, don't use publish them.

Just like Scott's site here, other legitimate sites likewise don't spawn unwanted tab pages, nor do clients who advertise with them resort to such underhandedness.

You'll know you have a problem when suddenly you find several tabs you don't recognized opened, pages you have no interest in and no desire to view.

If a tab you don't recognize pops up and its some advert or scam, this is a Tab-Under issue spawned from a page you earlier opened. If you've never had experience with this sort of problem you're one of the lucky ones.

For those who've experienced this issue Google's upcoming Tab-Under blocker in the Chrome web browser will be a welcomed relief..
