can anyone tell me if there is a heavier replacement rear coil for the 225. the only thing I have come across is the set up at procycle and I am not about to be spending that kind of money just so the wife can ride with me.

I've seen posts reporting that the TTR225 rear mono shock is compatible and is slightly stiffer:

Would be an affordable alternative if you can find a low-mileage salvage unit.

When I had my KLR250 my wife rode with me and the bike handled comfortably enough. The XT225 is a different animal though, not really designed for two up riding. Sure, it has passenger foot pegs and the seat's long enough, but suspension wise it's marginal at best with two aboard. If you put your wife on the CT110 while you ride the 225 there's a better chance you'll both be happy campers. Just sayin'!.

I do seem to recall someone here getting a higher rate spring, but can't seem to find it at the moment.

Here's the link to a post by 'Old Rider' describing the Hyperpro rear spring he installed on his XT225 and his thoughts about it..

my ct110 is way too nice for her to ride and we only take one bike to Utah on holidays so, this is it. I had a tw200 up to now and I redid the springs on it, which worked very well and I thought the xt would be the same. just a chore in finding a heavier spring
