Craig - Welcome back. How are things going with traveling and riding. Think we met briefly in Torrey? Been a few years so if this is a brain fart, just ignore. Hope all is well.

Your safe, no brain fart. Doing ok, lost my wife of 45 years a year ago and have tried to stay off 2 wheels as I'm not healing well these days but that's not easy. Still camping all the time. just bought a toyhauler and am riding a 4X4 Honda ATV. Trying to downsize and that's not going well either. Still in Joshua Tree. Just chugging along, taking it day to day. Hope you guys are well, maybe we'll meet up again somewhere. Be in Quartzite area this winter visiting my snowbird friends.

Craig - Very sorry to hear of your wife's passing. My sincere condolences and may she RIP. 45 years is a long time to include all the memories. She will undoubtedly be missed. Hopefully friends and activities can close some of the gaps while you regroup and rebuild.

Bikes do inflict their share of damage when things go wrong on the trails. I'm sure your decision to migrate to four wheels is sensible. Keeps you out, about, on the trails and safer.

My one dirt bike friend may be in Yuma on business. Other friends have relocated to AZ so I may schedule a visit there. Much depends on traveling weather and available riding time on my friend's part. He's with the military.

All well on this end. Since our visit, we got setup with a place in Montrose, CO and enjoy the San Juan Mountains down the road. Jeannie is fine and we're both still chugging along. Travel safely and enjoy your extended Quartzite visit.

Don't feel badly about healing. Non of us bounce as well as we once did.

Sorry to hear about your wife's passing, Craig. I know what that's like. Lost my wife of 48 years a bit more than 6 years ago. Best thing I did after she died was simply stay active; riding my XT, exercising regularly, meeting new people, enjoying friends, and finally dating again. In time the dark clouds lifted and things brightened up, like I knew she'd want them to be for me. It takes time, but as forward looking and active as you are you'll get there -- no doubt about it..

That sweet bike got snapped up in a matter of hours - I arranged to meet the guy the next day, but someone drove a couple of hours to get it that night. It's gonna be like the Cannonball Run out here, but I'm determined. Thanks for all the input and help guys.

That's the way it goes these days with XT225s listed for sale. If you're not 'Johnny on the spot,' cash in hand, and you wait before going to see it, it'll be gone before you get there.

Had a sweet '05 XT225 get away from me that way. Trusted the seller down in the Valley when he said he'd hold it till I got there. Then a guy showed up that afternoon, cash in hand and offered him an extra $200 on top of his listed selling price to take it off his hands right then. He took the offer staring him in the face, the bike went to a new home, and I only learned about it later in the day when I called to tell him I'd be there for the bike -- per our agreement -- early the next morning. Yeah...

That didn't slow me down though. Went on looking at Craigslist for XT225s, and a short time later ran into my current bike, the '06 I now ride, across the state line in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Immediately made a verbal deal with the owner to buy his bike, full listed price, cash on the barrel head. He said 'Yes' and agreed to meet me a few days later in Grants, NM, which he did, true to his word.

When we met he said he'd had three cash offers right there in Santa Fe, but turned them down saying he'd agreed to sell it to me and wouldn't back out on that agreement.

If the sale is a long distance drive then it depends on the person you're dealing with and whether they're true to their word. Some are, and unfortunately some aren't..

Keep after it and undoubtedly you'll end up finding the right bike at the right price. Good luck!..
